Overall Rating

The Canon EOS 700D is a capable and versatile camera that produces high quality images. It has a comprehensive feature set offering the control expected by enthusiast photographers while providing automatic options for less experienced users. The sensor records a lot of detail and the responsive vari-angle touchscreen enables you to shoot from angles you otherwise wouldn't be able to. It is, however the same sensor from the previous version (650D), but, with that said it's a great sensor. Unfortunately it doesn't allow for WiFi connectivity, which may be off putting to some consumers.

Build Quaility

Whilst in the same body as its predecessor, the EOS 650D, the 700D has a few minor upgrades to improve the way it feels and operates. It's not quite as robust as some of the more expensive professional level cameras in the Canon range, it does feel well made, with no loose parts. The position of buttons and the interface of the touch screen are well thought out and intuitive. An all together well made camera.

Value For Money

With current prices for this camera and the fact that it started out at a lower price than the 650D, released only one year previously, this camera is considered to be very good value for money.

Style

As far as Digital SLR cameras go, this one is well made, fits nicely in your hands and doesn't make you feel like you're working out while carrying it round, thanks to it's fairly light 575 gram weight.
